Montepulciano d'Abruzzo testarossa is made from grapes grown in the oldest vineyards (average age 40), that are harvested by hand in the third decade of October or early November, and are pressed and fermented for a period of 20 days. It's a typical red wine of ruby colour, provides taste and aromas of ripe red fruit and undergrowth such as blackberries, blueberries, plums, black cherries and a clear note of violet. Its aroma also includes tertiary hints of cocoa, licorice tobacco, cloves, black pepper and leather.
